Believe it or not, nature has tremendous healing capabilities if we allow it.
When you commune with nature you are tuning into the higher self, connecting with the eternal life – the life that is also within.
Reconnecting to the this beauty will cultivate a wellspring of peace, joy, and love. People constantly neglect the beauty of nature.
The beautiful part about nature is it’s free, and available everywhere. It’s a gateway to access the infinite wisdom of your higher self but people rarely enter.
Here are 3 ways you can find time to commune with nature throughout your day:
Your commute to work
Everyone travels to and from work – unless you work from home – travel time is an opportunity to appreciate the beauty around you. When driving, notice the beauty of the trees on the side of the road and the different plants that fill the streets. When catching public transport, allow yourself to immerse in the stillness and beauty around you.
Observe the plants and trees on your journey, find uniqueness in their appearances, you will notice the beauty in things you didn’t notice before.
“Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how rooted in being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.”
– Ekart Tolle
Spend time near open water
I find open water very peaceful, it gives me energy when I appreciate its stillness and allow that stillness to flow through me. Try this for yourself, make time to sit by a lake, river or beach, and allow the stillness to fill your mind. Listen to the sounds of the water flowing, wave’s crashing, let it unlock the infinite wisdom of your higher self.
Only in quiet waters things mirror themselves undistorted. Only in a quiet mind is adequate perception of the world.
Take a morning walk or run
A morning run is a fantastic way to start the day – you commune with nature while exercising – two key ingredients for a fulfilling day. If you prefer not to run get the benefits of nature from a walk.
Most people run in the morning just to meet their daily exercise needs, shift your perspective to make running about appreciating nature; it becomes more enjoyable, you will find exercise is just a by-product of you appreciating life.
I hated running because I ran to get fit, one day I decided to run because I wanted fresh air, I gave more attention to the beauty around me: the majestic trees, the smell of the plants, and greenness of the grass. My morning became more enjoyable, it became a form of mediation, I now look forward to it everyday.
“We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our own minds. We got lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating – lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems.”
– Exert from Stillness speaks, by Ekart Tole
Communing with nature daily will move you into the unexplored areas of your being and fill you with physical energy and mental clarity.
Incorporate it into your daily ritual.
